This app is made by one person. Write to tekmyaworkplace@gmail.com and you will get an answer from that person, usually within two or three days.

The easiest way is Contact support in the app's Settings. Tell us what happened, what you expected, and which iPhone and iOS version you have.

How does the reader work?

Words appear one at a time in the centre of the screen. The highlighted letter stays in the same place, so your eyes do not move along the line. Tap the screen to pause; while paused you see the whole sentence and can swipe to step back or forward one word.

How do I scan a page?

Tap Scan a page on the Today screen or Scan a book page in the Library, point the camera at the page and take one or several shots. You can also pick photos or screenshots. Check the recognised text, then tap Read. For best results, keep the page flat and use good light.

How do I read an article from Safari?

Open the article, tap the Share button and choose Speed Reading. Then open the app — the article opens in the reader. Pages behind a login or a paywall may not come through; in that case, select the text, copy it and use Paste text.

My speed test result looks wrong

Read the test text at your normal pace and tap Done only when you have finished. You can take the test again every 7 days from the Today screen; a new test never lowers your training speed.

How do I add the widget?

Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit or Customize, then Add Widget, and choose Speed Reading.

I don't get the daily reminder

Check Settings → Notifications → Speed Reading on your iPhone, and the reminder time in the app's Settings. On days when you have already trained, the reminder is not sent.

What is free and what is Pro?

The speed test, 3 scanned pages a day, reading up to 500 words per minute, one document in the library and the first week of training are free. Pro removes the limits. The full list is in the Terms of Use.

How do I get my purchases back?

Tap Restore purchases in Settings. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so they come back on any device signed in with the same one, at no extra cost.

How do I move my progress to a new iPhone?

This version keeps your data only on your device. Restore your new iPhone from a backup of the old one, and your texts and progress come with it.

How do I cancel the subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Speed Reading → Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before it renews. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
