5 Second Rule

Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These terms apply to the iOS game 5 Second Rule (on the App Store as 5 Second Rule: Party questions, the "app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

Licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store rules. You may not resell, copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app or its card packs. This licence also includes Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

What the app is

A party game for a group in the same room, played on one iPhone passed between 2 to 10 teams. A card appears, and the team has five seconds to name three things that fit. The group decides together whether an answer counts; the examples on screen are suggestions, not the only right answers. It is entertainment.

Free and paid content

The game and the Classic pack will stay free. Only one phone is needed: the whole group plays the packs unlocked on that phone.

Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may differ by country.

Subscription

To get your purchases back on a new phone signed in with the same Apple Account, tap Restore purchases on the Packs screen or in Settings.

Age rating

The app is rated 18+ on the App Store. It is meant only for players aged 18 and over. Please keep it out of games with younger players.

Your data

The app has no server and no accounts, and the developer keeps no copy of anything you enter. Team names, settings and game results live only on your phone, so the developer cannot restore them if they are lost. Your purchases are known to Apple and RevenueCat. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Playing fair

You are responsible for the team names you type and for what you share from the game. Cards are written to be fun for a mixed group; skip any card you'd rather not play.

Availability and changes

The app is provided "as is". Features and card packs may change. Support for older iOS versions may end over time.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or any argument at the table about whether an answer counts. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
