Camplight

Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 August 2026

The licence

Camplight is licensed to you, not sold. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. You may not resell it, rent it out, decompile it or take it apart.

Camplight is distributed through the App Store, so Apple's standard licence terms also apply to you: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where those terms and these ones disagree, Apple's terms win.

What Camplight is — and what it is not

Camplight is a focus timer wrapped in an ambient campsite scene. You choose how long to concentrate, the campfire burns while you work, and the app keeps a record of the sessions you finished.

It is not a medical, therapeutic or psychological service, and it does not treat, diagnose or manage any condition, including attention disorders or phone addiction. If focus or screen use is affecting your health, please talk to a professional rather than to a timer.

Strict mode is a rule that lives inside Camplight, not a restriction on your phone: if you leave the app during a session, the session fails and the fire goes out. Nothing stops you from leaving.

Locked Mode can go further, but only if you ask it to. If you turn on app blocking and grant Camplight access to Screen Time, the apps you picked yourself become unavailable for the length of the session. You choose them every time, Camplight never picks them for you, and it never touches an app you did not select. Blocking ends when the session does.

This is not an unbreakable lock, and we would rather you did not believe it is. Screen Time permission can be withdrawn in Settings on your iPhone in a few steps, and withdrawing it ends the blocking at once. Camplight cannot prevent that, cannot restrict anything you have not chosen, and has no power over how you use your phone outside a session.

Free and paid

These parts of Camplight are free and will stay free:

A subscription unlocks the rest:

The subscription

Camplight Premium is available monthly or yearly. The exact price for your region is always shown in the app before you buy, and prices may differ between countries.

The subscription renews automatically unless you switch renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.

You can see, change or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings on your iPhone, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription — you have to cancel it in those settings.

A free trial may be offered. Only one introductory offer can be used per subscription group, so if you have already used a trial for Camplight you will not be offered another one. If you buy a subscription while a trial is running, the unused part of that trial is forfeited.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.

When a subscription ends, nothing is taken away from your history: your past sessions, your streaks and your records stay exactly as they are. Only the paid campsites and features stop being available for new sessions.

Your data and backups

We keep no copy of your data. If you lose your device, sign out of iCloud or delete the app, we cannot recover anything for you, because we never had it. Keeping iCloud sync or device backups switched on is the only protection against losing your history, and that protection is provided by Apple, not by us.

Availability and changes

Camplight is provided as it is. Features may be added, changed or removed in later versions, and support for older versions of iOS ends over time as Apple's own tools move on. We do not promise that the app will be free of every fault or available without interruption.

Content that depends on outside services — the weather in the scene, subscription status — needs an internet connection and may be unavailable if those services are down. The timer itself works offline.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, missed appointments, missed deadlines, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Camplight. Some countries do not allow limits like these; where that is the case, the limits apply only as far as that country's law permits, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continuing to use Camplight after a change means you accept the updated terms.
