Camplight

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Your data stays on your device. Camplight has no server of its own, no account to create, and no analytics. We cannot see your sessions, your streaks or your settings, because nothing you do in the app is sent to us.

What you put into the app

Camplight stores only what a focus timer needs to work:

There are no free-text fields anywhere in Camplight. The journal is built automatically from your own sessions — you never type anything into it. The app asks for no name, no email and no account.

Where your data is stored

On your device, in the app's own storage. If you are signed in to iCloud, the same records also sync to your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so your progress follows you to your other devices.

That private database belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it and no way to read it — the operator is Apple, not us. If you turn iCloud off, everything simply stays on the one device.

Your data is also included in your iPhone's standard backup, if you have backups switched on. That backup is created and managed by Apple under Apple's own terms.

Location and weather

If you switch the weather feature on, Camplight asks for your approximate location while the app is open. The accuracy is deliberately reduced — roughly to your city area, never a precise position.

The coordinate is sent to Apple's WeatherKit service to find out what the weather is where you are, so that the rain or snow in the scene matches the weather outside your window. The coordinate is not saved, is not written into your records, and never reaches us.

If you decline the permission, Camplight keeps working normally — the scene simply shows clear weather.

Purchases

Camplight offers an optional subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, your billing address or your Apple Account.

Subscription status is managed for us by RevenueCat. It receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation and the details of the transaction — which product was bought, when, and whether it is still active. It does not receive your name, your email, or anything you do inside the app. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server behind Camplight, and no device token is sent anywhere.

The app does receive silent system notifications from iCloud when your own data changes on another device. These come from Apple as part of CloudKit sync and carry nothing but your own records.

Screen Time and app blocking

Locked Mode can block apps you choose for the length of a session. This is optional: it does nothing until you turn it on and grant Camplight access to Screen Time, which is Apple's Family Controls system.

The way it handles your choice is worth explaining, because it is unusually private. When you pick apps to block, iOS does not tell Camplight what you picked. The selection arrives as opaque tokens that cannot be read or turned back into app names — not by us, not by anyone. We store those tokens on your device so your choice is remembered between sessions. They are never sent anywhere. They are not included in iCloud sync either, because they only mean anything on the device that created them.

Camplight cannot see which apps you use, how long you use them, or what you do in them. Screen Time gives it exactly one ability: to make apps you selected yourself unavailable while a session runs.

You can withdraw Screen Time access at any time in Settings on your iPhone. Withdrawing it ends any blocking immediately.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

Camplight contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It does not request the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not use App Tracking Transparency, and does not build a profile of you. Apart from RevenueCat, described above, the app contains no third-party SDK at all.

Children

Camplight is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. The app stores no information that could identify anyone.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device.

The copy in your private iCloud database is not removed by deleting the app, because it belongs to your Apple Account rather than to us. To remove it, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, find Camplight and delete its data.

Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side — and, equally, nothing we could restore for you.

Your rights

Camplight does not collect personal data, so in normal use there is nothing to request access to, correct or export. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Brazil and believe we hold data about you, write to us and we will answer within the period your law requires.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Camplight starts doing something new with your data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top of the page will change.
