Box Breathing

Terms of Use

Last updated: 13 September 2026

These terms apply to the Box Breathing app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Installing or using the app means you accept them.

Licence

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Box Breathing on devices you own or control. You may not resell it, rent it, redistribute it, or attempt to decompile or reverse-engineer it.

Because the app is distributed through the App Store, Apple's standard licence also applies: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula

What Box Breathing is, and what it is not

Box Breathing guides breathing exercises. It keeps the rhythm, names each phase with a voice, marks the change with a vibration, and draws a constellation as you go. It is made for relaxation and general wellbeing.

It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It does not replace a doctor, a therapist or medication, and it is not an emergency service. If you are unwell, call a doctor, not an app.

The breath-hold measurement is a stopwatch for your own observation. It is not a lung-function test, and the number it shows has no medical meaning.

Practising safely

Breathing exercises change how you feel, and a few situations make that dangerous:

You decide whether a practice is right for you on a given day. The app cannot see you and cannot make that judgement.

What is free and what is paid

These stay free, with no advertising anywhere in the app:

The one-time purchase adds:

The purchase

There is one purchase and it is one-time. Box Breathing has no subscription and nothing renews automatically.

The price is shown in the app, in your store's currency, before you confirm anything. Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple ID.

The purchase belongs to that Apple ID, not to the device. Reinstall the app, or install it on another device signed in with the same Apple ID, and Restore on the purchase screen brings it back at no additional cost.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer: reportaproblem.apple.com

Your data and backups

Everything the app records stays on your device, and the developer keeps no copy. That is good for your privacy and it has one consequence you should know in advance: if you delete the app, lose your device, or restore it without a backup, your practice history is gone and cannot be recovered by anyone.

If your history matters to you, keep device backups switched on.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as is. Practices, voices, sounds and screens may change between versions. Support for older versions of iOS and watchOS ends over time, so a device that can no longer be updated will eventually stop receiving new versions of the app.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app — including lost data, lost time, or any effect on your health or wellbeing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them removes the consumer rights you have where you live.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
